A whimsical afternoon at Salisbury’s most beautiful farm,
PETTENGILL FARM
walk through lush gardens, an enchanted forest, and the serene marsh; it’s an event like no other.
ABOUT THE EVENT
Join us at our 6th annual Fairy Gnome Discovery Walk at Pettengill Farm. The gems of the event are the 150+ Fairy and Gnome Homes peppered throughout a 1 mile wooded path that leads to the marsh and back. Homes are created by talented professionals, families, school children, and local businesses. The event will have Fairy Tales read in the woods, live music, performances, Delicious food offerings, and so much more! Last year’s tour drew over to 6,500 attendees and based on the early buzz and the social media following, we are anticipating an even bigger event this year.
Everyone is invited and welcome to create and submit a Fairy Gnome House towards this event. All entries receive 1 complimentary admission. For more information www.FairyGnomeWalk.Weebly.com

2017 Fairy Gnome Discovery Walk
In the books is yet another Salisbury PTA (SES PTA) event that was supported in so many incredible ways by our community and beyond. Sometimes it is felt that the hardest part of this role is being able to adequately express the depth of gratitude for the many kind acts bestowed upon the Salisbury PTA and sub sequentially the children at Salisbury Elementary. This little town of Salisbury is one to be so proud of. SES PTA’s 3rd annual Fairy Gnome Walk turned up well over 6,500 guests from Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, the “North West Kingdom” if Vermont, Massachusetts, New York, Maine, and beyond. The more the grounds at Pettengill filled with giggling children, birthday celebrations (young & old), fairy / gnome enthusiasts, the more we smiled.
These 6,500 guests later boasted on our event pages and social media how lovely our little town of Salisbury is, what an enjoyable time had at the Farm, the beach, our shops, and our restaurants. This event drew in just shy of $30,000 and 100% of such funds are allocated towards enriching the educational experiences of the 510 children at Salisbury Elementary School.
We had many contributors to the successes of the weekend, but the star of the show was without a doubt, our friends at Pettengill Farm. Jan & Henry Richenburg and Liana & Justin Webb. These folks have been on this journey with us since the beginning. They support this event in so many ways. They have that magic that turns an event into something much more special. They have such heart. SES PTA has spent countless hours picking the Farm’s brain, they solve our conundrums, they coordinated alternate space for set up, dug divots for drainage in the WEE hours of the morning, fielded a gazillion inquiries regarding the event, provided and spent countless hours prepping an incredibly beautiful venue. They are our biggest cheerleaders and are just simply an amazing, kind family that we are so grateful to know.
We also want to extend our gratitude towards the community in which surrounds the Farm, we apologize for the inconvenience that occurred during the event- we never expected such gridlock and overflow on parking with our two-day extension. We appreciate your patience and support as we work through the growing pains of a successful event.
To our many sponsors- THANK YOU! TW Excavating who came in unsolicited and donated an incredible amount of labor and materials to prepare the trails for our event, Creative Touch Designs for outfitting all our volunteers, TCS Communications for donating the very well needed walkie talkie systems for all our team, Dave Torrisi and Bob Moore who played countless hours for two days that thousands enjoyed, Emily Cowen at Newburyport Macaroni Kid, Great Newburyport Mother and Family Club, and Harmony Natural Learning Center that spent the day with us offering children FREE activities, Tracy Kane’s special time in the woods reading from her award winning series, The Pearson’s from My JLP Photography that captured the most amazing photographs, the staff at Pettengill for directing our guests , the special visits from Tinkerbell & Silvermist at Party Princess productions, performances by Theater in the Open, our Event sponsors: Children’s Health Care, Harmony Natural Learning Center, The Fruh Team, Newburyport 5 Cent Savings, Amesbury Chevrolet. Tom’s Discount, Gould Insurance, Elizabeth Calsey House, and the many many volunteers and families that created and gave their time to make this event successful. We sprinkle that Fairy Dust on you all!
Many thanks
